ANANDA NAHU - UK PREMIERE MURAL ART COMMISSION FOR THE 2015 ¡VAMOS! FESTIVAL.
¡VAMOS! returns for it's 10th edition! Featuring music legends Kid Creole and the Coconuts who headline a dazzlingly different line-up for the 2015 ¡Vamos! Festival. They’ll be joining: Mexican wrestlers, Peruvian street artists, Mardi Gras partygoers, world music premieres, flamenco dancers and chocolate heaven as the home-grown multicultural festival goes to town to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Brazilian artist Ananda Nahu visits UK for the first time to produce her first mural in the country at the festival! Ananda Nahu is famous for her complex and colourful murals enriched with intricate patterns and featuring powerful women as centrepiece. Her large-scale works include intricately created female characters all entwined in the rich history of Bahia. Nahu is one of Brazil’s top muralists, recently featured in Phaidon’s new book Brazil, an ode to the country’s contemporary culture. Ananda will create an exclusive artwork in the new ¡VAMOS! home “¡VAMOS! Social"
